I've stopped using any of the cake to cake connectors on both AP and 1.3 cakes. If you want to do it right, cut off the connectors and splice them together with some magic tape. If you want a...
Congratulations! That is impressive. Learning the technical aspects of pyro is one thing, but having the talent and vision to pull something like that off is a whole other level.
When it comes to firework regulations, salutes are in a whole different category. In the 1.4G world a firework that serves no purpose than an audible boom (salute) has long been banned. On the...
You are thinking correctly but lots of variables to consider:
1) The fuse on the last canister shell is not going to take 25 seconds. They average about 6-7 seconds but you'd need to test one of...
Yes, it will be accepted, but is overkill and carries a lot of responsibility if you are just going to be using 1.4 and 1.4 pro product.
What you are referring to is just the application form, but...
1.4 Pro Line is the same as Articles of Pyrotechnics. Dave offers an AP Certificate Program and there is a link on this website that some vendors will accept. These are basically professional display...
It's not just fireworks. Have you been inside a grocery store lately? It's going to be interesting. Economics is like a pendulum swinging one way or the other and it always swings too far before...
There may be other paths forward such as traveling to open shoots, club events, etc. at locations closer to your distributor. Regardless though, Engineer Cat makes some good suggestions. Even if you...
Totally agree with you there. I was really talking about small to medium sized cakes. When it comes to shells and big 1/1 cakes nothing is going to touch 1.3. I'm not going to be handing in my 54 any...
I’ve seen a few non-salute shows and they do seem odd when you have become used to that “Midwest Finale.” A couple years ago you couldn’t get salutes over 1.5” or whatever it was and a lot of display...
Shipping isn’t a viable option anyway without a magazine. If using contingency storage it will need to be a reasonable distance, usually within 2 hours so you can return product if you cancel.
This is the first year I’ve put 1.4pro into my mostly 1.3 show and I was pretty impressed. There is quite a bit of overlap where I wouldn’t know the difference between a 1.3 and 1.4 cake if not for...
You might want to consider something a little heavier than saran wrap to make it easier to work with, but yes, once it's covered you should be fine and yes, shells will shoot right through both the...
That’s one of the reasons I don’t use boards. In your situation I’d probably get some cheap painters plastic and cover the entire board and tuck it under the board to keep water from migrating under...
Put cakes inside black plastic trash bags. For racks, cover with plastic sheet or carpet runner. Keep the plastic tight on the top to help prevent water from pooling. Just shoot through the plastic....
I think the part a lot of you are missing is that the house had already burned. Apparently it was stuck by lightning and in the course of battling that fire the fireworks were discovered. It’s not...
One place said commercial grade and another said illegal consumer fireworks. I'm guessing it was the latter. Might make sense if the house was already a total loss. I have to wonder if the original...
I wonder how they compare to e-match in terms of performance, ignition time, etc. If they are more like talons, I don't see how you could use these in a pyromusical. If you could get e-match like...
They have a professional business Casa Pyro and a consumer business Casa Fireworks. I believe 1.4pro is sold out of the professional leg, so I’d expect you will likely need to work with them in...
Think talons, but for the display industry. The large, bulky head was designed to accommodate quickmatch. The idea was that these were not static or friction sensative and therefore safe to connect...
Professional racks seem to be a mixed bag. I've seen mostly loose mortars, but I do have some 3" racks that I bought 2nd hand that are screwed from the bottom into the plug. It certainly keeps them...
They can be loose. The purpose of the rack is more to keep the mortars pointed up than solidly secure. The force of the lift charge drives the mortars downward rather than up and the spring action of...
That is true. Nothing wrong with DR9. I just wouldn’t go investing in new racks I otherwise wouldn’t need just because of fuse length on this one case of shells.
I do like your idea of drinking a...
Personally, I would not do this. If the shell wedges in the tube and doesn't fall you will have a low break. I always make sure my shells are all seated at the bottom of the mortar.
