have a really confusing question (well, confusing for me, anyway)

is there just misprint or more confusing situating

They did have a sort of recall about 4 or 5 yrs ago - the green visco was too short for the tube. So took them all apart and cut off some of the tube length. then put them back together - problem solved.

ah, ok. i thought that maybe those were old stock without the fuses sticking out all the way, some time. but i think i got it. thank you :)

Joyce I always wondered how they solved that issue with the fuse being too short at the mortar top when they had that recall. I suspected that occurred when they added that cap on top of the shell to hold the fuse , that device shortened the fuse length because when they added it they probably didn’t lengthen the fuse in production. I am not 100% on this but this is what I suspected. I also wondered who figured all of this out and reported it. I told that John Rodgers of AFSL for years prior to the implementation of that shell cap that users were mixing up top and bottom on those shells however it fell on deaf ears. I proposed to make the fuse visible for the entire length and not go under the paper wrapping. This way inexperienced users can see it where it lights the bottom and does not appear to light the top of the shell. Which some users were thinking was the bottom of the shell. Curious if adding that cap reduced the incidence of upside down loading
