I have been working all week with a blaster who is getting his ATF license reactivated after a few years of not mining. He managed to put together a Job Box magazine the night before his inspection with one trip to Home Depot. They had the box, locks, and a gallon of Herculiner in stock. He needed a second magazine to store blasting caps, and this is legal in a type 4.
The ATF rep looked it over said "Yep, nice magazine!" and issued the numbers on the spot. Bottom line: The Job Box is pretty easy to get through inspection, even in California.
