LOL. I think it is. No one makes M 80 any more. It is now these big monster salutes.

At your suggestion, I now use that stuff for everything when I'm blasting. Here is some attaching the blasting cap to a 1/2lb stick of Kinepak explosives I was using to get rid of some old dynamite.

When M-80's were banned by the CPSC, many American fireworks manufacturing companies warned that, because of ease of manufacture, giant ground salutes such as those would become available on the black market. Which became true, and were made first by the Mafia in New York, now by street gangs such as the Bloods, Crypts, Kings, etc. There's a lot of money to be made with those.
