I received an email from Electric Match about these new duplex connectors they are selling. There's no tool needed and reusable. Unlike butt splice connectors.

Yea but being they are reusable it might be worth that investment like any other piece of equipment. However, it would slow up the breakdown trying to recover them. I wouldn't mind the slow breakdown if I can gain that time setting it up. However my shows are rather small compared to most of you guys on here so I would understand it might be painful trying to recover these after the shoot.

I can recommend the Wago lever-nuts like the 221-412. I've used these for many projects and they're built for industrial environments. They can be fairly cheap when bought in bulk. You can get them with more ports which can allow you to quickly wire multiple ignitors in parallel.

They are reusable, but on a large show do you really want to add to your tear down time chasing down your wire to remove all these connectors? Reminds me of the year where I decided I was going to save all my scab wire. That idea lasted about 5 minutes before everything started going in the trash. I really like the Scotchlok connectors.

What did everyone decide on for low-cost Scotchlok connectors? I use these for blasting sometimes and I really like the reliability. They are single-use, but "just work."

I use whatever ones are cheapest. They all seem about the same. You can usually find them for about $15 for 200 online. I've never had a problem with them and they definitely save time. I've never bought the crimping tool either. Regular pliers work just fine as long as you are careful to pinch them in the middle of the button.

That's more like it. I like the idea they are reusable. But like BMoore said, do you really want to be fishing for these after every show? Probably not a big deal for those of us doing smaller shows as a largely one man crew. At this price point though it doesn't matter if a few or even all get trashed.

Yep, I don't care about recovery now. LOL I already placed my amazon order for them. Will have them Sunday.
