Hey guys, I know there's not many Firelinx users on the forum yet but there are a few of us.

I picked up an Apache case from Harbor Freight and installed a wireless antenna extender so I can close the firing module up while shooting to avoid shrapnel getting all over it. Similar to what I've seen some of you guys do with the cobra. This is just a quick 5 min video showing what I did.

Apache 3800 - Harbor Freight $44
Antenna extender - https://fieldcomponents.com/ - Item description: N Female Bulkhead on LMR195UF Ultra Flex to N Right Angle Male Cable Assembly 1 ft long (12") $35 with shipping

This is my biggest issue with firelynx, the polycarbonate case. The system I use is cased in fire resistant fiberglass, and if I was a cobra user I would definitely ditch the seahorse for the fire resistant silicone boots. I did bring this up in the past and got a similar reply like this, “the internals would still fry”. This is incorrect as a few I know that have had some incidences but internals survived fine. I’ll say it again maybe firelynx needs to offer some kind of custom fit case or redesign the mod with something much more fire resistant.

BTW check out mycasebuilder for custom hard foam. I had custom built foam for both my controller and audio/music sync box and very pleased both times.

Awesome. To bad they come in a 10 pack but $10 bux is worth the protection.

Thank You! I did receive your email.

For those of you wondering, I found that after installing the extension for the antenna I actually had 1 bar less on the wireless indicator as opposed to full bars when the antenna is connected without the extender. Firelinx is sending a larger antenna to make up for that loss.

I have my parts in hand, but haven't started assembly yet. Looks like Firelinx has released their setup. Not sure who makes the case, but I've got more than the price they're asking for in my setup. They should consider selling the parts separate from the case though. Several of us bought Pelican cases as soon as we got the modules.

Oh yea look at that. A bit pricey though. About $185 with shipping from Florida. My setup cost about $120 total.

I just ordered a second firing module and asked if they are selling just the components yet but they are not.

Nice to see they have them now ready to go with the antenna installed. Good for people who don't want to fuss around with it.

Nice suggestion, we'll take it into consideration! :)
