I just got back from taking my family to the Western Pyrotechnics Association Winter Blast. I learned a lot over the 4 days I was there and got to shoot a ton of class C, take a short class B class and shoot 3" shells and watch the kids design and build a full professional display with 1.4 and 1.4 products and a big Cobra system. The Pyro on Training (PIT Crew) is an awesome program and they made it clear that fireworks aren't just for adults.
They had a lot of seminars and workshops, from rockets and flamethrowers to dealing with the fire marshal There were folks there from all over the USA and Canada there. Will definitely come next year!
