I used a lot of Excalibur/Excalibur Platinum shells in my last show, but they seem to be lacking in effects...

My show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26W2v6x5tec

Ball shells like Goliath and Super Magnum have better symmetry than Excal IMO. I am looking for a shell that has really good effects like some cakes i've shot.

Here are a few cakes that I would like to have a shell that has similar effects:

Polar Attack Video (https://www.jakesfireworks.com/fireworks/finales/polar-attack)
Extreme Machine Video (https://www.jakesfireworks.com/fireworks/finales/extreme-machine)
Hot Dog Video (https://www.jakesfireworks.com/fireworks/show-starters/hot-dog)

Also, are there any cans that have good symmetry? What are the best ball shells?

What I can tell you is that ball shells will have more symmetrical breaks. I would say that is a fact and not an opinion.

Accept when the ball shell is really a canister shell in disguise:

If you would find an old batch of Windmill Super Magnums about 2009/10 - they are symetrical cans. They came packed 6/20. grab them. We sold the crap out of these when they were around - out did anything out there at the time. Then quality went down - quit maiking them.

I'd say excals are the worst for effects. They're a grab bag of generic effects. There are shells on the market that are effect specific. Red Apple and Spirit of 76 have some. Others have their own version of willow and Nishiki shells. If you really care about effects, focus on cakes.
