Went pretty well I think. Some timing issues and dark sky between songs (my unleashed cakes fired much faster than expected) I step scripted my finale and kept pressing the sync button instead of step. Couldn't get it on youtube because of copyrights so I just threw it on my dropbox. Video is pieced together from a couple of videos that were taken but it is all there dark sky and all. STarts witha short clip of the setup and since I don't have an audiobox yet I start witha countdown that is my cue to start the script.

I'll try and post some other clips and details later.

Very nicely done! I like the pacing. I wish I had slowed mine down a little more.

Thanks for the positive feedback! It's a great shoot site except for the fact that I can't just drive up to it and unload. I either need to bring everything over by boat or haul it up/down about 200 steps. There's also a lot of trees not far behind the site so I need to angle everything towards the water. Not a huge deal but something I need account for. This year was nice because the water level at the lake was low.

That was mostly my son and nephews you could hear enjoying the show. We must have watched that part of the video a 100 times. Although the best part for me is that my wife absolutely loved the show. I was afraid she was going to send me packing if she had to listen to that soundtrack one more time or if I spent another penny. Now she's suggesting I do a longer show.

HAHA.. that is always my favorite fan too... i know its drives her nuts all the money/time spent on this hobby...especially on setup day while at a party... and i could see it increasing as the show approaches every year.... but when its over and she tells me how good it was... and recommends something to add to it next year.!!! priceless

Similar thing happened with me too. This was my first big show and my wife had no idea how much money and time I had spent. She came out the barn one day while I was putting some things together and was a little surprised at the pile of fireworks. Her response after the show: “OMG, I had no idea. That was epic.” And I got the green light for next year.

Nice show! Beautiful shoot site. I'm jealous. I can imagine a lake-house right there with me in it! I was waiting for some water effects. Looks like you definitely have the lake for those.

Good job!!

Thanks Rick. As you know you deserve a lot of the credit for making it as successful as it was. Water effects are certainly on the roadmap. Maybe in next years shows but not sure yet. If you noticed, that one boat passed just as I started my show. I didn't take a second look for traffic before starting my script. I think it would have been far enough out for a water cake but that's why I need to test first. After the chatter caused by this year's show I suspect many more boats next year. I really need to think about how I can make sure that area stays clear.

This year we had our party on the 3rd so I could enjoy the whole day with everyone (i.e drink). My setup only took about 3 hours with lots of breaks. From there it was a waiting a game. They were saying I looked like an expecting father the rest of the day. God bless my 79 year old father. He hauled most of my product to the lake for me and had everything cleaned up before I woke up on the 5th.

Here's another video of the finale from off one of the docks, taken by my wife. My mother insisted that she and my father stay ashore to watch for any fires. He was a volunteer fireman most of his life. My wife stayed behind because she isn't fond of boats and the one we were in was at capacity. I told them to keep an eye on the racks during the finale and if they saw anything other than shells going straight up to jump in the water ASAP. You can hear my mother worried about a few embers that came down low and then my wife scream. She said she almost jumped but it was all over before she could react. Her reaction at the end is priceless!
