What's going on? These items value well under $30. With the number of bids and prices one might think there was a Fireworks shortage....People are shopping beyond the store now. The latest news says Firework store sales is much greater than it was last year.... And many are new customers. With the cancellations of most public displays; people are entertaining themselves. http://www.pyrotalk.com/bulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=5038&stc=1

Are they the type of items that vintage firework collectors would want? If so I can see why the bidding would bring the price up.

Maybe if the decimal point was moved over between the 7 and 0 for $57.00 but that's even high. LOL

And that's just for the labels, since you can't sell explosives on eBay, right?

This is nothing new, it’s been going on for years now. The buyers are from states like California and the shipper is shipping the fireworks illegally via UPS, USPS or FedEx. As many of you know it’s forbidden to ship fireworks other than FedEx hazmat or freight truck. The label thing is get around the eBay fireworks policy. You can even find homemade m80’s and such on eBay.

Obviously if UPS, USPS or FedEx discover that they're shipping fireworks then the buyer won't receive the package and is also out the purchase price as well.

What happens to the seller? This has to be very risky from a criminal aspect.

Pretty much as far as they want to take it basically, especially the USPS
