Hi All,

I am fairly new to the fireworks scene and still learning. I have purchased 1.91" x 12" Orange HDPE DR11 Mortar Tube off PyroDirect (https://www.pyrodirect.com/1-91-x-12-orange-hdpe-dr11-mortar-tube.html) and used them without fail with Excalibur Shells, my question is this year my typical store doesnt appear to have Excailbur shells in stock so I am wondering if the Raccoon 5" Canister Shell Kit (https://www.nhpyro.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=RA32401#.XtjkVzpKiM8) would work with my HDPE tubes I have?

Thanks in advance!

You shouldn't have a problem. I shoot my five" length and 4" length shells out of the same tubes. (I use 1.875" FRE Mortars) The OD of both canisters should be right at 1.75". Ive shot the racoon 5" canns and I love them!

Yes they will fit and those Raccoon 5" shells are pretty nice! Most consumer shells are 1.75" in diameter which is what your DR11 tubes work with. There are a few shells out there that are only 1" or 1.5" but are noticeably smaller in diameter. All the 5" shells I've come across so far have been the normal 1.75".

This is good info. Other than the "festival ball" canisters which are 1 inch and a few 1.5 inch shells the Mad Ox Pro OX and Nukem shells from WFboom. Otherwise 99% of everything else is 1.75 which fits perfect with DR11 tubes. I have probably 150 Dr11 tubes and from ball shells such as super magnum or futurama to all the 4 and 5 inch shells they all fit. The only snug ones are some certain noisybois that are a little snug, but still fire fine.
