Building boards, this is my 5 step process I have it down to about 30min start to finish.
1. Review script pull product
2. Layout board (marking each item on the plywood)
3. Remove bottom paper
4. Poke and install match
5. Glue to board

4 boards done 25 to go along with multiple mine, rocket and candle racks

It's good you're taking the paper off the bottom of your cakes. Let that adhesive set for a couple of days and the cakes are going to be rock solid. I hope you have a good scrapper or something you can use for cleaning your boards off. That adhesive is some tenacious stuff. I don't know if you already have a system for this or not, but you can also write the cue on top of your cake. The masking tape used to hold the ematch wire on top would be perfect.

Looking good, always fun to look at setup pictures.

Great tips,, thank you... I’ve completely scaled down my show this year.. as I won’t be able to shoot on the property I normally shoot on ... so I was thinking of using boards for the first time to make it easier for me too

I have been using board for a while but really got more into it last year after getting a firing system. I am way behind and have done no setup. I have found it take longer to get those damn wires in then anything!

That's why I converted half my Cobra mods to quick clip cues and bought quick clip slats. I'm hoping to cut down on setup time substantially this year. Which is good because I haven't built a single board yet and only fused 1/3rd of my effects. I really need to get with the program already!
