Hello Pyros!

I have been along time lurker of DisplayFireworks1 on youtube as well as many other fireworks channels, finally got on PyroTalk the beginning of this July ( I wish I had been on here a long time ago), lots of great info on here!

Bought a Cobra 18R2 and 18M Black Friday 2018, added another 18m a couple weeks ago after deciding more is better. My neighbor and I put on a neighborhood show on a couple vacant lots in our neighborhood each 4th of July, previously fusing cake to cake to mortar rack and using a little 6 slot module purchased for Spirit of 76 a couple years ago.

We used to use 4'x4' "pallets" to set up our shows and fuse each with an approximate fuse timing... Decided that was ok but a Cobra would make it so much easier, hence the 18r2 and two 18m purchases. Last year we aquired a 16' car trailer to set up on and that made things easier for setup and moving.

I work in Medical Video Integration in Operating Rooms, travel the US and Canada weekly. I am a DIY handy guy, I can build it.

Created a script for our show this year for 70 cakes and 320 mortars only to not use it because we got eager in the rain and thought we had a window of opportunity to quickly set up and fire our show, unfortunately mother nature said 'hold my beer" right after we un tarped and dumped 3" of rain on us between 945pm and 2am. We re tarped after the downpour started and soaked our cakes, we salvaged 280 mortars thanks to covering with foil.

July 5th we completely reset our show for 280 mortars and three cakes that didnt get wet. Fired 16 ques manually and atleast lit the sky a little.

Moving forward from lessons learned this year....
Signed up for Daves Pryo AP course today.
Add two more 18m firing modules.
Replace my GoPro Hero 4 that failed to record this years mortar show (it was recording and just stopped as the show started, no the sd card was not full).
Buy more mortar tubes / build more racks.
Time to elevate for next year.

Oh Pyro... my wife hates you.

Welcome aboard Svn Twoo! Sorry to hear about your rain issues. Unfortunately, I know exactly how you feel. Going with the Cobra was a good call. I love being able to hit 1 button and then sitting back and watching the show I worked so hard to create. That's the only way to go IMHO.

Rain was the devil this year it seems. The trailer makes it so much easier moving from staging to shoot area... After some serious reading on here, I am reevaluating how I do a couple of things moving forward.

Cobra was a great decision same thing with daves ap package if you order froma American wholesale fireworks (tgey accept his ap certificate) they used to and i believe still do offer 20% off to pyrotalk members and have a nice assortment of 1.4pro stuff to choose from
