That was such a mixed bag. It's like they want to double ban illegal fireworks. Fire and police are all for it too even when they acknowledge they don't have the time, money or resources to inforce what they currently have. Seems like some people think neighbors turning one another in to face $10,000 fines is a solution. Neither will fix the problem.

I gotta say...I had a good laugh as well. God forbid this people attend meetings about the drug epidemic on the streets of Cali and WHAT THE POLICE AND THE POLITICIANS ARE DOING ABOUT IT!!

Honestly, in California, anything that can cause a forest fire (which fireworks can) is of a major concern. While I find all of these regulations to be irritating, they are really trying to address a major cause of problems. For example, we are so concerned about fires, they even occasionally shut of the power during what PG&E thinks are times of high risk.

So here's a crazy thought then...

Instead of paying $600K to paint over a mural of George Washington; or paying millions for the healthcare for people here illegally; or an endless list of other equally ignorant things they're doing with your tax dollars; why don't you tell your politicians to use the money to build new, bigger, better transformers that won't explode and burn down half the state instead?

I noticed not too many people at the meeting because most people love fireworks especially on the 4th. The people who attend these meetings are anti fireworks and have nothing better to do but complain about a failing system. They need to focus on the bigger issues that are plaguing this country. The local government has to realize that the majority really love fireworks and will continue to purchase & use fireworks to express there patriotism and to celebrate certain holidays and events.
Im not saying that fireworks are not dangerous anything and everything is dangerous if used incorrectly. They really need to make consumer fireworks legal period. Its been a failed ban since the begnning and it puts more pressure on law enforcement and fire departments. If an accident or issue does arise then they will step up and be dispatched.
Its all about overtime and salaries. A big task force of a dog and pony show.

Isn't it amazing the concessions Californian's are willing to make for people who shouldn't be here in the first place? Free medical. Voting rights. Drivers licenses. If you're a drug addict, no problem! Free needles. If you're a poor illegal immigrant drug-addict, pull up a tent or cardboard box on any street you choose. Defecate on the streets, toss your used needles anywhere you want, throw your trash in the street. No problem!!

BUT DON'T BRING PYRO INTO THE STATE!! That's where they draw the line. Simply, amazingly ignorant.

Why can't they make concessions for pyros too? Let people shoot stuff on the 4th in designated locations where the fire dept can monitor it. What's difficult about that?
