I guess I'm reduced to buying cakes and taking them apart? So, anybody have suggestions for cakes with giant comet tails?
I mean, ideally, I'd buy single shot comet shells or cans or tubes. But the only ones I can find on the market are 76 Pro use only, which apparently I can't buy, without a certification.
Any suggestions / advice welcome - I just want to mix some big bright comets into this years show.

I have a list of advertisers that accept my Article of Pyrotechnic continuing education program. They can sell and ship AP product you. You are going to need a professional fireworks firing system to be participate. Do you have a system? Do not take apart Consumer Fireworks, consider this option.

Thanks, that could be very helpful.
Right now I'm working with an ebay chinese system - not sure if that qualifies as a professional fireworks firing system.

If you're looking for an actual comet artillery shell, check out Dominator's FX Artillery comet shells, which are available from site sponsor AWF (https://americanwholesalefireworks.com/fx-artillery-comet-shells-dominator/).

I just saw in a recent post that AWF is offering special pricing to PyroTalk members.

You might also try a roman candle option, like the Mega Millions candle from Magnus (https://youtu.be/7FaQH-oDCK0). I know who supplies them in my area, but they aren't a site sponsor, so PM me if you want their info.

In the '70's United Fireworks (American made) made a single shot #300 size tube comet that when fired created a spread at least 4 ft. in diameter. Gold and silver, very impressive. I'm wondering if there's a Chinese item out there?

Thanks, I'll be on the lookout for those candles.
I'm aware of the dominator shells, but I haven't found a local store that sells dominator products. As far as AWF goes, I can't get anything shipped to me, but I'm considering a road trip.

What brands do you have available around you? That would make this easier to answer.

Madame Butterfly by Winda has some bright long burning comets. It also has some pretty nice mines.

My favorite store sells Big, Brothers, Winda, world class, cutting edge, empire, megabanger and bright star - though I'm not sure if he does special ordering, or if that's even a thing in the fireworks industry.
Phantom is also an option, though their prices leave me shaking my head.
