The magenta shells were a 200g Point Break cake. Shot it with two 12 cue and a 6 cue remotes. Thinking about getting a Cobra for next year.

Sorry. Have to ask. Why did you put the cakes on top of milk crates instead of on boards or staked to the ground? How did you secure them to the milk crates?

I'm pretty sure they are fountains lifted up so the audience can see them better.

I can tell that you've been doing this for a while. This could be an instructional video of how fireworks should be presented.
Excellent selection, matching and contrasting of effects, and timing. Each sub-set consisting of shells of increasing size and height. Musicians say "Sometimes the best note is no note." The dark sky at the end of each crescendo is an old school technique; it builds anticipation and excitement because the crowd knows the show isn't over without a finale. When the finale does arrive, we know because we haven't been watching endless, uninterrupted sky-puke since the start of the show. And lastly, no non-synchronous, pointless music. Whistles, crackles, whooshes, pops and booms were meant to be HEARD as a compliment to the effects. Great show............

Sorry. Have to ask. Why did you put the cakes on top of milk crates instead of on boards or staked to the ground? How did you secure them to the milk crates?

Those are fountains on the milk crates. Put them on the crates to get them up off the ground a little bit. They were a last minute addition; next time I will put them on a piece of plywood between 2 saw horses to raise them up a little more.

The camera was not far enough back so you don't see the fountains. That is the crackling you hear when there are no shells breaking :)

Excellent!!! Ralphiej kind of hit it on the head.. great job!!! One question/comment.. i noticed you were using a milk crate rack with 30 tubes in it slightly loose held with duct tape.. now i know this is a hot issue.. and im totally not trying to start that debate all up again.. i use them myself.. just curious usually a square milk crate perfectly snugly fits 25 tubes in it.. but this crate looks bigger but not rectangle.. i would definitely be careful with using tape as the thing that holds them secure.. as much as i love duct tape..personally,, i still wouldnt fully trust it like that... that other metal rack is really nice too!!! Gotta get me some of those

It is a normal sized milk crate. The tape doesn't really do anything because the tubes are pretty tightly packed. I can turn the whole thing over to clean the tubes and they don't move.
