Rewraps and Distribution

Hey, I read a post earlier regarding the rewrap of a particular product. It got me to thinking about how this stuff is all done... such as, is it third-party vendored product that gets shipped to certain distributors and they wrap it however. Do certain brands have their own product line for unique products? I'm curious if anyone has any information on how it works.

Also, how does one follow the rewrap and keep up with all of it? Is their some sort of database that has an identification number associated to a product? Like once it gets sent out, you can see what its named in the hands of each distributor...

Im not 100% about this.. but i think of it like the supermarket brands.. most of those generic store brand products are actually made by the name brand companies. And they just slap a differemt label on it and sell it cheaper.. either brand the consumer picks the company makes out.. pretty sure lots of firework.. especially artillery shells.. are made by a handful of manufacturers.. and they just put whoever is buying label on it for them ..ay e not in all cases.. but i think a majority of them are done like this

Mattp has the right idea. Lots of importers and wholesalers use the same factories in China. If an importer is big enough to order a certain quantity of an item, the factory can create a custom label and rewrap any given product. Another scenario that I’ve seen more frequently is a certain brand reusing an old effect and putting a newer, updated, different label on it. Brothers does this all the time. They rewrapped Cobalt Bomb as Parrot’s Prattle but still sell both 500g cakes. They also rewrapped a 200g 49-shot cake called Anarchy (plain black packaging with red lettering) with bright colorful packaging and renamed it Wildcard. Atom Bomb = Blond Joke, etc.

MAX’D OUT by Red Rhino is also the same shell as Excal. Same factory, even the same mortar tube.

I had no idea that Megabanger's Scuba Diver was the same as Winda's Super Stunt. Super Stunt has long been one of my absolute favorite 500 gram cakes. But I can buy the Scuba Diver version from a local wholesaler at better prices. Excellent info! Time to drag out my notebook and make a slight change-up for my next buys.

Thanks for the updates! Red Rhino and Jakes (World Class) have a lot of connections/history, so they often have the same products with different labels. They also both have access to one of the factories Brothers uses, so you’ll see some repeats there.
