Just wondering if any members are from Ohio and have gotten their type 54. I purchased Dave's DVD package a while back and am ready to proceed, but with Ohio being "safe and sane" I wonder if it is harder to get. Any input appreciated.

There are others on here who can answer this in more detail but the short answer is no, it will not be any more difficult. You are applying for a federal license. State laws are irrelevant to obtaining that license.

What are you doing? You better send that shit in and get moving. Come to Kellners Fireworks demo in April. If you would have sent it in , you could have been shooting some 1.3 fireworks at the open shoot. Show up there and I'll talk to you.

I used Dave’s video and just received mine in January. The whole process took about a month.

The state you live in has little to do with aquiring and ATF permit. The ATF is only concerned with Buying and Storing 1.3 product. State and local laws pertain to using product. In Ohio, a State lead license is reqired to use fireworks legally. To get a lead license, a test is required and a recomendation by another lead shooter.

In addition the lead shooter must apply for a permit with the local AHJ plus insurance is needed.

That is if you want to shoot legally. People will tell you that none of that is necessary but I thought you might like to know what is needed to use your product legally.

What Northern Sky said above.

Getting your 54 is as easy as a $2 whore. It's the state laws you have to adhere to legally shoot 1.3 in your state.
