Every year I use a SONY camcorder to tape my show. It's great at catching the breaks up high and close up, but I lose everything else. I'm looking for a new camera that can catch the entire field of view from the ground up to the highest breaks, and everything from side to side.

Can anyone recommend something that's not going to break the bank but still get the job done?

Look forward to these responses. My show last year, my wife used her Nikon DSLR camera. It took really good video and average sound. However, I'm sure there is much better options out there for actual video cameras, not camera, for cheaper than a Nikon.

this topic has been covered, many times, prior but overall, you want a 4K camera with a good lens(more wide-angled).
a dinky little go-pro is not going to cut it and the audio is horrible.
audio is another matter and you want an external microphone and if you really want to do it right, a separate digital recorder like a Zoom box .
there is a guy in here who has such a set-up ... maybe he could chime in ...
