I made my first batch of BP on Saturday and I have to tell you it was pretty damn rewarding! It wasn't too hot a mix, I finished with nice granules for lift charge. My next batch will be for homemade QM. It was definitely time consuming but a heck of a lot of fun!

Yes, it is a lot of work, and time consuming but the possibilities are endless. Next you will be making a TLUD to burn your own charcoal & start experimenting with the "hotter & cooler" burning woods. It is a never ending journey once you start building.
Congrats on the good batch of BP.

Post some pictures. I still have some homemade black powder my friend made , we can compare the pictures to see how you did. I'll try to post some pictures of what I have. To post pictures click the little square icon next to the green film strip icon. If the picture does not load, you may need to reduce the size. To post a video , place the YouTube link in the new window that opens when you click the little green film strip icon.

Here are pictures of the home made black powder made by my friend Scott. We used some of this in my video on the concussion mortars. When you post pictures of yours we can see the comparison.

I think you may have actually made Sen-Sen's in that last picture.

Sen Sen was discontinued in 2013 from what I am reading. It is from back in the day. To hide the smell of tobacco smoke on your breath. I remember it was sold in drug stores only. Valuable to a teenager trying to hide the smell of cigarette smoke on his breath. Or you could just chew on some of the neighbors hedges just before you enter the house, like my friend told me to do. LOL I remember it being very strong licorice tasting almost unpleasant. But not as unpleasant as chewing the neighbors hedges.
I see now it is highly desirable on Ebay

I'm having a hell of a time uploading my photos of BP, is there a brief tutorial?

If the photos will not upload reduce the size. There is a size limitation. Another option you can post them to Facebook or another photo site and embed the link. Are you using the Icon to the left of the little green film strip icon? When you touch it is says "Insert Image" . To embed a youtube video copy the address to the new window that open when you click the green film strip. To view if what you are doing is working click "Preview" before you post.
If all else fail email them to me at pyrotalk at gmail and I'll post them for you. My guess is the size needs reduced
