I just have mine on shelves in the basement inside case boxes. Does anyone do anything special?

I keep mine on pallets and put as many cakes and/or boxes I can fit into heavy duty contractor bags.

When I visit these Consumer Fireworks warehouses I never see anything special. A dry environment is most important for sure.

Attic space above the garage. Would eventually like to buy or build a shed and put the stuff in there.

I keep them in the cardboard boxes that they come in, in my shed on a shelf. Never had any issues, i know its fine, but not a fan of storing them in my house

I keep mine next to the gas water heater to keep them warm and dry through the winter. Lol not really tho. Definitely keep them far away from that in the garage

Keep in the original cartons and store in a shed. Sprinkle some mothballs around to keep the little critters from getting to them

Mine are kept in plastic totes in my basement with a few Silica Gel Desiccant packets thrown in each tote to guard against moisture. Totes themselves are on shelving to keep them off the floor. Fired off some fountains this year that I bought back around 2003-2004 and they worked great.

line those plastic tote bins with cardboard panels to spark-proof it moreso. plastic tends to conduct electricity and or hold static charge.
along bottom and all 4 sides .

Interesting, that is something that has never occurred to me but I can see how a static charge could build up. What if I stored the fireworks in a cardboard box and then put the box in the tote? I have some boxes that should be about the right size. I honestly need to go through and weed out some of the pyro build-up. Getting a little crazy.
