We had our state license inspector yesterday. he told us of this incident. Sad - don't know exactly what happened, but accidents happen even if you do go by the book.

This post resurrection is a smart move. Unfortunate accidents like this need to be studied, deconstructed and learned from. Reaching over a gun, hot or not, the kid must have had a momentarily lapse or got confused. I pray for this man and for all us pyros. Let's not repeat any of these tragedies we learn about. Did we ever hear of what the root cause of the woman that was allegedly e-matching a show in PA that detonated? Do we have full detail of what actually happened? Static?

There was a local radio station man Marty Griffin here in Pittsburgh that dedicated part of his AM radio show to help this man when the township would not hire him back as the police chief. It will be interesting to hear him talk about it on Monday.

Men sometimes do strange things when they lose their job and/or experience financial crisis , I do not see that in this case because he admitted to using the app to post for the last several years. That would be prior to his accident and loss of employment. Some of it is discussed in this article. That app he was using has a primary user base of 13 to 23 year old and has an open policy of cooperating with law enforcement. He has a young child and was recently married. Its all very unfortunate.

I have seen this happen to a family friend...the girl was 14.nobody knew he was investigated for it 12 years ago...ten years after the fact she contacts him and says she wants to talk to him so he agrees to meet her...little did he know she was wearing a wire and he apologized for everything he had done...he lost his job...his wife...his house and friends.Hopefully this guy in Pennsylvania gets the help he needs!

"Diebold admitted that he knew that sexual contact with a 14-year child was wrong and illegal and that his life was totally over"

I think that's pretty much the understatement of the year. When the inmates find out he's an ex-cop, police chief AND a sexual predator.... He's pretty much toast.

The former family friend only did 6 month's of county jail time and he actually had sex with this girl.Maybe pennsylvania laws are tougher.
