Well this year i will be shooting a case of Excalibur canister shells for my finale I usually shot 3 boxes of Excalibur for the fourth and save 3 for New Year's Eve

These will be my finale racks I plan on shooting a case of Excalibur should be a good finale

Is there any reason to paint racks or to even stain them so the 'elements' does not affect the wood over the years? I keep my racks in my garage, but looking at maybe staining them if it is worth it in the long long run.
