Thats awesome! Looking forward to it! If you really wanna get crazy like I am, get the Rode NT4 Stereo microphone for your camorder. The sound quality is un believable. If you watch on a home theater, it'll make your fireworks sound like special effects in movies lol

Video is uploading as we speak.

Its about a 10 minute show. Consisting of 3 Positions on a small lake at the Hard Rock Hotel / Casino in Hollywood, FL. Position A & C have cakes and candles. Position B conists almost entirely of 3" shells. There are a minimal number of cakes @ Position B. Show was fired with FireOne.

Love the aqua color in that first cake! The colors are getting better every year as of late. The reds by world class and Winda this year seem to be better than ever as well. Question, The comets in the beginning? Single shots or cakes?

That might be the machine gun array. I was working this show just watching on my day off.

In a month im going to send my guy out with the camera again to get the final show of the hard rock series. Its about 3 minutes longer. We are going to try to get him on a roof top back further away so he can get a better view of the entire show in the frame.

thats the same camera I use, great for on the go video, I do a lot of video stuff for work and this thing is great cuz it goes straight to my timeline without capturing. I used it for my show this year but i had no one manning it so it only got a small chunk of my show. I use it for everything now. also if you want one hell of a production camera and have some dough to put out, the Panasonic hmc-150 is a great camera, that shoots at 24p, so you get a film look to your show.

That Panasonic Camcorder looks like a monster and probably takes unreal video. A bit expensive for me though. I was looking at the Canon HF-S20. Looks like a great little Camera and also shoots at 24p if I'm not mistaken. What I like about it is it has a microphone input. I want to get the Rode NT4 microphone to go with it. Looks like a great mic, records sounds from 20hz to 20khz and a max spl of 143db!!! You gotta hear the youtube videos that test this mic, the sound is unreal!

Here's the video of a test of the NT4 mic. Just listen to the drums! It sounds like there's an individual mic on each drum!

man for the price of that mic one could get a small mixer and use two sm58 mics in stereo!

Blackdevil77

Yes, but I doubt the sound quality will match that mic, the SM58 only records sounds down to 50hz while the NT4 records within the entire audible range for human hearing! Not to mention its 143 db max spl so even standing right under a Little Big Shots 5" ultra salute, you would capture the sound extremely accurately. And the NT4 IS a stereo mic! If you look it has 2 small mic's on it, not to mention it would be a lot more simple. Just put a 9v battery in it if you don't have access to phantom power, plug it in, mount it and your done! I've done mobil DJ-ing for a few years and have been around my share of audio equipment my whole life. Shure makes great mic's, and so does sennheiser, but that Rode NT4 mic is one hell of a mic! Believe me when I tell you, and for that price, it comes with a case and all the cables/accessories you would need!

cool deal Blackdevil77 - I have a small mixer and several sm58's that is why I was tainted in my opinion. The NT4 looks great for sure. Two sm58's could be used on on right and one on the left channel of the mixer for a stereo recording. The NT4 is a nice tight package!

the nt4 is a great mic, but when shooting fireworks having this stereo setup wont help your case much, this mic needs to be close to the action if it is sitting 100 feet away this mic will sound good but if you want to get stereo audio from the actual firework the best mic to use is a good shotgun mic, such as the rode ntg2 if you want true high quality stereo get a small mixer with at least 2 xlr inputs, get some longer cables and run 2 mics one mic panned to the left and the other panned to the right about 50 feet apart. bring the stereo mix out of your record output on the mixer, this will give you unreal audio, this is how the film companies capture live stereo audio for productions,i would not recommend the sm58, it is great for live performances and controlling feedback for vocals, but for video production with long throw audio capture needed they just don't cut it. now if you want close up on the mortars, the sm57 is a great mic also for high spl, they use this mic on snares in nearly every studio i have seen. hope this helps, remember you don't have to buy all this stuff, you can rent it!

Absolutey, you can't be the quality and stereo seperation of two seperate mics to a mixer, but for a simple, out on the field mic, the NT4 would definitely make life easier and the sound quality is really incredible. You won't get the same seperation from the NT4 as you would two seperate mics that are 50 feet apart, but you definitely would have a stereo effect, especially with other sounds other then the fireworks. I'd like my booms to be coming out of all speakers anyway, and the fireworks would likely always be the center of attention in the videos so the sound of them would be coming out of both the left and right channels.

Pyro@Mach13, I definitely wouldn't say your opinion is tainted at all! Two seperate mics and a mixer would sound fantastic! I just like the added simplicity of the NT4 for someone that just goes out on the field to record some fireworks. Both would DEFINITELY be a huge improvement over the built in camcorder mics
