I'm trying to figure out what size of box I can get a whole case of Excalibur canister shells in with as little wasted space as possible. Does anyone have some that could measure for me? I need the diameter and length.

Thanks! I've seen comparison videos with different canister shells lined up, but I wanted confirmation with what I thought they were. They're really 1.75" wide? I gotta say, I'm surprised, but pleasantly.

On a side note concerning storage--the 5 gal HDPE buckets & lids you can buy at the "big box stores" are a great way to store 1.75" shells--and easy to transport that way also.

I've heard about people doing that. Those 5 gallon buckes are pretty strong. I plan on storing everything in a steel office cabinet I got off of craigslist. I plan on breaking open the cases I get and putting all the shells into boxes like this one (http://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Home-Depot-16-in-x-12-in-x-12-in-85-lb-Heavy-Duty-Small-Box-1001016/202897299) the day I get them. I shuld be able to get a case of shells in each box and have room to spare. The cabinet is 3ft wide so two of these boxes should filt pretty well on a shelf. There are 4 shelves so that leaves room for stuff like fuse, tape, propane bottles, etc on the top shelf. The main thing is I'll be able to lock this cabinet up and keep my cousin's kids out of it.
