"pop its" is a brand name but i think the general/generic term for these is "adult snaps" or "fuse-less crackers" as i've heard them called, many times since they came out. i don't hear much difference betwixt any 'vintage' of these other than maybe, the ones that are totally dried out from manufacture . the less moisture in the composition, the louder/better, usually .
i love them !

I've been wanting to try adult snaps. How do they compare with normal firecrackers? From the videos I've seen, they're pretty good, but not quite a normal firescracker.

My understanding is you can buy these like you would regular snaps. You can have them shipped to your door just like any normal online purchase. No freight charges.

These snaps are not a novelty item. When you go to PHMSA's website and put in the ex number for these they are classified as 1.4S and UN0337. If you ever order cases of these you will see the orange sticker on the side of the box will say 1.4S not 1.4G. I have seen some with a 1.4G sticker but if you get for example the black cat torpedos, thunder snaps, the ones from world class (if you can still find some) will all have a 1.4S on them

These used to be novelty items around 2007/2008. They ended up being reclassified as fuseless firecrackers and now carry an explosive warning on the box.

Correct, if you were a Pa resident and went into a Pa fireworks store you could not technically buy these. As they are 1.4s fuseless firecrackers. I once drove an hour and a half one way to get some, just to be turned down and sent home. Boooo!

I picked up a few boxes of these to try out last week. I gotta say, these things are almost as lound as a normal firecracker. They're really good. Now, I got to the local fireworks store (not the same one I got mine from) and ask for them and the lady says they don't carry them anymore, that they're illegal now because they were too powerful. Has anyone heard of this?

Kellner Fireworks sold these things for the last few years. Some people really enjoy them. I think I still have the same box from 2010. Here is a video I made February 25, 2010. When I look on YouTube now I see a few people tried the same thing.

We at Kneppys carry the adult snaps. 4 brands but all basically same.
Unless i missed something. I could not find them on Kellners site.
