Just talked with some family members that live in Vero Beach. They evacuated their manufactured home (trailer) and drove inland to a hotel closer to Orlando. Still will get hit with hurricane winds and rain but should be safe from storm water surge? Prayers sent to everyone in Matthews path.

Everything is calm so far here in St. Pete. Hoping for the best for Infante and everyone else on the other coast...

That is one nasty storm. Hasn't been one like that to hit Florida since Wilma. Hope everyone evacuated that could.

Here in Leesburg, Lake County, about 30 miles NNW of Orlando, it's somewhat windy (20-25 MPH) with occasional hard downpours. No obvious damage other than lawns littered with small tree debris. Power stayed on all night and is still on.

Barely a breeze! Thankful for that.

Are you gonna be at Mitch's place on the 15th, Carl? If so, I have something for you...a small surprise!

We have not heard from forums member Bazerk in Plantation Florida. How did that city do during all of this?

It was a waste of time and energy here in plantation to be honest. We got a few gusts of 30mph or so but other than that it was business as usual. Thank you for asking.

I think we're lucky this thing stayed off the coast as long as it did. I thought it was going to go into Georgia.
