State law prohibits private individuals, including a certified fireworks operator acting as an individual, from
sponsoring fireworks displays however, a fireworks display company may sponsor displays for private
parties.

does this just mean shooting for profit or what?

It's simple. Only companies can sponsor fireworks displays not individuals. If you're an LLC with all the necessary permits, insurance etc then it should be no prob.

Ok so it it what i was thinking then. Basically i was just wondering if that means someone like a town pays u to put on a show u cant do it individually. Not meaning it prohibits u from doing individual in your backyard. Who would i even go through to get a permit in my rural area..i mean u dont go to a town to get one so who? I am still new to all this and i am working on my state certification first..first show is saturday :)

im new to it also but i know about pulling permits for things. you would go to your local town/city/county. possibly fire marshall etc.. depends on how your local govt structure is setup.
