Hey all-

Thought I'd share my 2016 July 2nd show from last night. This is using my Cobra 18M module and 18R2 remote.

I'm in Massachusetts so everything is illegal but in my town everyone does them anyway (the law we have is ridiculous -- for possessing and/or shooting it's $50 fine and they confiscate if they want to).
The Atlas fireworks shop on the NH border majority of their customers are from Mass.

I went to Atlas corporate in NH for their seminar and I'm now a seasonal employee. I received a certificate from the ATF that allows me to be an employee possessor of explosives under Atlas' ATF license. So that means I can work as a pyrotechnician with one of their shoot crews. I'm hoping to latch on to a shoot crew to learn and help with their show setups. I will even get paid as an employee! During their busy season they do up to 45 shows a night -- it's crazy! I'm also psyched as just recently the owner discovered Cobra and they plan to standardize on cobra for everything now.

I didn't get around to getting my ATF license this past winter but plan to this winter. With any luck I'll be able to include Thunderkings in my New Years show and with a personal ATF license I can buy them from my friends at Atlas.

Here's some pictures of the setup of the show. I build everything on the trailer so I can wheel it into our cul-de-sec which has the best room and then wheel it home. We construction adhesive all of the cakes to the plywood and screw down the plywood and racks so nothing can move or fall over.

I also have a video where I go over the setup and what is on each cue on the cobra.
Here is that video:

That's all. Enjoy! Happy July 4th 2016!

Nice setup. How do you like the cobra system? Easy to learn?

Great pictures and video coverage. Nice trailer to carry everything into position. You are brave man using all consumer igniters on that display, did you have to add additional wire onto each igniter? They are usually not that long. Another thing to consider is to place the place the Cobra in the middle of the display setup, but hey some guys like to keep their equipment clean and safe. Its great you posted all these pictures on the forums because it will be fun to see how different it will look when you get your ATF license and start to work some professional displays. I am surprised Atlas is just getting around to the Cobra System, I suspect they were using Pyromate systems.

Hey guys -- I didn't get a notice that there were replies on my thread. Sorry for the late response!

Rick I found the cobra quite easy -- only a few minutes to learn it. It's been flawless.
Dave I didn't need to run extra wire -- I have a many different length igniters I buy them in large amounts along with fuse in large amounts so I can do anything.
Used several 3 and 4 meter talons. Most cues have at least 2 talons per cue -- only thing I don't like is that only one talon has to have continuity to show continuity for the cue. I don't think you can do talons in series since there is a long current draw on the cobra and it could stress the fets that is uses.

You guessed it -- I wanted to keep the cobra away from the setup so I put it off to the side.

Atlas does use pyromate, but what made cobra attractive is the price believe it or not. I was told Pyromate is rather expensive.
So far they haven't contacted me for helping out on a shoot. Was talking to some of their technicians when buying some last minute stuff and they tell me I would need to pester the office to find a crew that would take a new guy. The crews are usually the same people who gel and tend to work together.

This stuff just doesn't get old.

See ya.
