I just sent out a test email to all pyrotalk members. I believe my web people may have finally solved issues I was having. I was sending emails and not everyone was receiving. If you are a pyrotalk member and do not receive the test email please let me know. First be sure your registration email address is what you think it should be.

no email received - check your sending IP address to see if it is on an RBL list.

Also make sure you have your SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record set up correctly in your DNS Zone.

If someone did receive it please tell me. At least a few people. It should say test email in subject. I also sent two out before this last one. For the people that posted they did not please check your Spam folder. This is strange because my account received the email as a regular email and not Spam. Since pyrotalk has been attacked twice over the last few years, the servers put extra Spam Assassin filters on it. It affects outgoing emails to some degree.

I did receive a test email from you. I think it was in my spam email from yahoo. I already deleted it .. my fault. I should have kept it. Will kept future ones longer. Gregory

Its possible your isp has blocked certain outbound ip addresses or our provider (aol for me) has blocked the ip of the email sender

I am continuing to communicate with my server about this issue. For those that did not receive the email. Please check that your registration address is correct. These emails I send out go to the email address in your profile. Some members change have more than one email account and forget they used a different one for registration.
If I blocked your ip address you may not even be able to see the forums. If you can see the forums your ip should not be blocked. I cleared all blocked ip address a couple of years back when I declared a temporary amnesty for those banned members that wanted to come back, not many did. I blocked a few ip after that but not many.

I check my registration email and it is correct. No test email in spam either.

I have also noticed that your server's hostname did not have actual DNS A record, so I have added required record as follows:

cloud.XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXx

In addition, your server's primary IP address requires valid DNS PTR record. Due to this, I am sending this ticket to our administrators so they could add required DNS record. We will get back to you in this ticket as soon as we have more details for you. We count on your patience and understanding.

I can at least show members part of the communication from my web host cloud people. Over the weekend I will send another email out to test it. They also advised me yahoo and other email sites have flood control. I have people working on it. Hopefully it will work without an issue. Ever since that last attack on the website the email sending has been an issue.

Now we need to wait for DNS propagation across the net which usually takes 24 hours. Then your mail service reputation will improve.

Figured you had something amiss in your DNS Zone.... make sure you have a SPF set up too in the zone.

I do understand how complex it is. I have run my own apache internet server since 1996. E-mail is a royal pain. That is why I asked you to check to see if your sending IP address is on an RBL list. I hate Spam Assassin, I use ASSP - much better IMO. BTW - I do all my own work, I do not have support to call on.

Using Google APPS for your email server instead of your shared server mail server is an option too. I do that on one of my domains.

If your domain does not have an SPF record, some recipient domains may reject messages from your users because they cannot validate that the messages come from an authorized mail server.

here is how to set one up:

This ajax enabled wizard will guide you through the process of creating or editing a SPF record for your DNS domain. You should add this DNS record to your domain's DNS configuration.

I apologize to everyone that received multiple emails but it looked like it did not work, so I sent another one and another one etc. Its like that person at work that keeps hitting print multiple time when there is no paper in the printer. Then when someone adds paper you get all those copies. LOL
I am going to have to try the email system again, only I will wait a few days before doing so. Again my apologies to everyone.
