10 shot straight rack
materials:
2x3 pine-6 feet per rack (tubes protrude) 6 foot 3 inches (flush)
1x4 pine-9 feet per rack
2 inch screws (drywall or deck screws work best)
1/4 inch rope for handles (optional) 8 inches - 2
#6 screw eyes for anchoring or 18 inch 1x4 -2 (stabilizer feet)
step 1: cutting materials
cut 2x3 base at 24 inches 1 of these
cut 2x3 sides at 12 inches 2 of these (tubes protrude)
or
cut 2x3 sides at 13 1/2 inches 2 of these (tubes flush)
cut 1x4 side slats at 27 inches 4 of these
step 2: optional rope handles (if not desired "f" it and skip to #3
using a dado blade 3/8 inch or 3/8 inch router bit notch tops as pictured
REPEAT FOR OPPOSITE SIDE OF BOARD-DO THIS ON BOTH SIDE PIECES
TAKE 8 INCH PIECE OF ROPE AND STAPLE INTO SLOTS FORMING A LOOP
STEP 3:BASE AND SIDE ASSEMBLY
PRE DRILL HOLES IN SIDES AND COUNTRSINK (PREVENTS SPLITTING)
SCREW BOTH SIDES TO BASE AS SHOWN
STEP 4:ATTACHING SIDE SLATS
PRE DRILL HOLES IN SLATS AND COUNTRSINK (PREVENTS SPLITTING)
SCREW SLATS TO BASE/SIDE ASSEMBLY AS SHOWN
STEP 5:ATTACHING SCREW EYES OR STABILIZER FEET
DRILL A HOLE 1/2 INCH DEEP 5 INCHES FROM BOTTOM-SCREW IN SCREW EYE (BOTH SIDES)
OR
1X4X18" LONG BOARDS SCREWED ON THE BOTTOM AS SHOWN (BOTH SIDES)
STEP 6: VISIT THE SPONSOR PAGE AND ORDER TUBES (I HAVE NO VESTED INTEREST IN ANY OF THEM BUT I HAVE FOUND THEY HAVE THE BEST PRICES AND SERVICE)
STEP 7:FILL, ENJOY, REPEAT
Thought I would put this up for those who wish to build a rack-I've embellished my rack builds over the years to suit my needs-feel free to omit, add, modify to suit
