x=cal tubes and sandy soil

I had 38 x-cal tubes in a pile after loading the racks New Years. On a whim I checked the soil and it was a very easy to dig sand. Made a trench with a hoe in only 10 minutes. Left 2 inches of very loose material in the bottom and put the tubes in the trench. Set each tube by placing a 2x4 over the tube opening and seating it with a couple of hammer taps, raked in the trench filling to the collar tops, made up a string of 38 x-cals as it was raining off and on and had to load at last minute. It shot perfect with no problems at all.
For extra fun I made believe the burried x-cals were 10 inchers ha ha.

I buried some of the tubes from the big's pro shells last year in sand at our camp, it's a quick way to set some tubes and I will more than likely do it again.
