Question to ATF license holders.

From time to time I receive this journal in the mail. I suspect they are sending it to all ATF Explosive license holders. Please comment if you recently received this. I would be curious if it was sent outside of Pennsylvania.

At Westpapyro did you receive your ATF license/permit after 2012?

The last I heard most people are working from the 2012 ATF explosive license list. The listings of who all has an ATF license is not as organized as you think it is. I ran a scenario past the ATF once , lets say someone lost their ATF Fireworks license for one reason or another, and they lost it in the middle of the three year period it was current. They physically turned in the license. However they kept a copy and all the distributors they dealt with have a copy on file. Can they continue to keep purchasing 1.3 fireworks and other explosive material with that copy they kept? The answer is surprisingly yes. The ATF told me it happens with gun dealers all the time.
How did I discover all of this? I heard rumor of someone losing their ATF fireworks license. I did not want to call the person and I did not want to call the ATF. I talked with a 1.3 dealer I could trust and ask if they could run a name for me to see if they were license. I mistakenly thought when you purchase 1.3 fireworks they run you license through the system so to speak. I was told it does not work that way. When I had an opportunity to talk with the ATF about something I brought this up. They told me it is a problem in the system. This is what I know from 2 years ago. This may have changed. Most people in the business if they have the list at all are working from the 2012 list of explosive license holders. The list is also very disorganized and scattered.
