I don't think is was any of the Flame units that started it. I think it was more human error. I.E. fueling the unit on the field.

The cause for the fire at the Rams, from my understanding, was due to a faulty ignition device on the liquid flame unit. The liquid was propelled out of the system but not actually ignited due the faulty ignition and the liquid fell down onto the grass. The liquid was on the field and what ended up igniting it was the gerbs and other close prox effects when the Sparks fell to the ground. Very few companies still use this method due to how unsafe it is and it was bound to happen with this method. Liquid flame is the old school way of doing this effect and at the level of performing for the NFL this should of never happened by upgrading to the newer methods.
