I am currently loading the Collier Sportsman Club Fireworks video. Here are some still shots. I will probably email the video link unlisted to all pyrotalk members to see it first. Be sure your forums email is up to date.

Of course I am having website issue with sending a group email. I sent it out and it appears it did not work. I will try to send it again. Having a complex website like pyrotalk creates software and server issues at times. I have maintenance agreements from the server and Vbulletin software along with a webmaster on retainer, however when something does not work right they sometimes blame the other guy. I will try right now to send again.

Why do you choose not to wear personal protective equipment when firing a show? It doesn't set a good example. You should consider the dangers associated and the message it sends when you do not even have a hard hat and eye protection on. Thank you

I had ear plugs in and my eye glasses on. As far as outer protection I was wearing long pants and a sweatshirt.

The picture is deceiving he is not standing as close to the cakes as It may appear. The people hanlighting all had hard hats, earplugs, fire jackets on and the works. I was standing a few feet behind him ear plugs and safety glasses were worn. These guys put safety second to none using barriers on the cakes and fencing around there finale. I couldn't hand light that night because I forgot long pants as I wore shorts due to the heat during setup.
The guy in the sixth picture down white hard hat was hand lighting.

I am at a turning point with my website and free videos. I may have to start selling a percentage of my future videos. There is a whole story that goes with that of course. I have to obtain more advertisers or get a major sponsorship from a fireworks manufacture. I would love to advance much further into pyrotechnics, I am trying to make a decision that allows the website and what I do continue to grow. I love what I do with fireworks and want to continue. There is a history of fireworks magazine and website failures, I may be the only major one left here in United States, I do not want to repeat the same mistakes they made.

My friend Bob at Summit Pyro has his version of the shoot on his youtube page.

This looks like it was a very successful display. I am glad to see that the were very eager new people joining in on the show. Each year, it seems to be attracting more people and it's turned into an annual tradition. The quality of the video that your friend provided us with, is well done. The audio is very clean and the colours come out vivid.
I can't help but feel that this year, budget seemed to have cut down significantly and less people were in on the setup. I for one, find that this year hasn't been too friendly on pyros, with the tragedies that occurred in Italy (Bruscella) and Spain (Zaragozana) and budget cuts due to the decline of the economy. Usually when firing a show, space is crucial to provide safety to not only the audience, but the pyros themselves. Looking at how close your hand fired racks were, it almost looks like there was no less than two and a half feet apart, and 4 feet from the finale section. I would find it a little too close for comfort when being put in a tight space like that with only one direction to escape to if something bad were to happen. It's quite possible that no one had foreseen what the setup would resemble prior to the shoot day. This sort of proximity would be a no go for me, if I were to be hand firing those shells. Knowing the precautions you would take for yourself and others, Dave, I am certain that there were no close calls and you all enjoyed yourselves. I hope this does not come off as a rant, nor do I want it to. Just looking out from one pyro to another as most should, in this fun yet dangerous hobby..

That video turned out great. As much as you are doing in fireworks you can probably start your own club or something along those lines to generate the revenue needed to cover your expenses. Are there any clubs or organizations in our area?
