It may have taken a 7 hour drive but it was worth every moment. I met so many people there and everyone was really nice. Dave I'm glad I got a chance to meet you I wish I could have talked your ear off but you truly are a celebrity I think everytime me and my wife were going to talk to you, you had 12 people around you. I had a bunch of people sitting by me that every time they seen you the would say ( THATS THE GUY THATS DAVE FROM PYRO TALK.) I wouldn't be surprised if you had paparazzi following you around next .
Watching both nites of pyrofest makes me more determined to build sets (front Lines) I thought that was the best part. Not sure if anyone was able to get closeup pictures or video of their setups but that would be great to see. How about just picture of your frontline sets?

There are several pictures posted of Ricasa's one shots used in their fronts both in the staging area and out in the field.. I will see if I can get some of them together & post them later.

Great picture post thanks. I have some pictures Pyrojoe wanted me to post. I will try to add them in. This event is always fun for me because I get a chance to meet some people from the forums and some of my youtube subscribers. When I hear how far some people have progressed into the hobby, licensing , working for professional fireworks companies, using firing system , choreographing displays, building racks . setting up their own magazine etc. I am impressed and please to know I may have inspired some of them. Some of these people traveled a long distance to see this event.
Matt I know you Joe and a few others helped set things up when they needed help. That great, I am impressed they set up all those major displays in one area. I know whenever I saw any of the pyro crew including Rocco, Stephen and Ricardo they looked tired. It was a massive amount of work. On a sad note I discovered my old Italian pyro friend Tony passed away and no one ever told me.
Here is my video from Pyrofest and pictures from Joe.

I want to thank Melp for all the info on the cobra firing system. Nice to meet you and your wife and hope to see you again next year. And I'll be buying Dave's video on getting my license because of you. Drove from chicago and I'm hooked on pyrofest for life.

I just wanted to clarify that I didn't go out to the field to help with the setup, but I stayed behind at the camp site--all the rest of the Bixler crew [Mike, Josh, Dave, & Jeff] as well as Matt & Dane did go out. I didn't want to be totally worn out before the evening "festivities" began--I guess my age is slowing me down a bit---I wish I could knock 20 years off & keep up with these great guys!!!

Sorry I missed meeting Ya Joe, I only arrived late, about 7:ish Saturday. But I did sit in the field with most of the same guys you knew.
Had a great time, I sat with Brian, Gary, Barry, Tim, Dane, Matt and all of their families and other friends. Just feel lucky to live near this great local event.

Hey Leadhead

I love your screen name. Me and the wife had a blast sharing the front row with you and your family. I believe me and the wife will be there again next year as my wife asked me when tickets go on sale for next year. Suz was a little bummed because she didnt get a chance to thank dave for her shirt. She wanted dave to know that we both wore them the first day its just that it was so cold no one could see them.
You will not regret buying dave's video, and Im sure that there is someone in the chicago area that could give you contingency storage. Dave probably can give you a name. If you buy a cobra they are awesome if you want to start out small you can buy a quantum 12 firing system for about 99.00 that was my first one, if you watched all of dave's videos he had some of the ones just like the quantum.
Ever since I got my license I now am helping on professional shoots I have a large one to shoot on the 4th. Most of all have fun with it

According to my daughter the person that did the Disney theme fireworks display years back at Pyrofest was still the best. I liked the music in the Jason Farrell one. The part at 4:45 nearly brought tears to my eyes. My daughter recognized the music and like that part also.
