Hello, I'm a huge firework fan! Unfortunately, good firework displays are quite rare here in Switzerland. I recently visited the Geneva Festivals Firework..it's a 60 minute display with over 30'000 rockets fired from like 30 boats.

Here are some impressions:

As I have nothing to compare it to....how would you categorize it..is it a bigger one? Or is nothing compared to what you can see elsewhere in the world? Also I would like to know what is the maximum size of a shell there is used (guesses)? I think I read somewhere than in Geneva, the maximum that was fired was something like 6 or 12 inches only..And that in Japan they use up to 48 inch shells.....what is your opinion?

Best regards

Thanks for joining the discussions forums, we always enjoy having members from outside of United States, we can both learn something about our fireworks cultures. I see you are from Switzerland.

.
I just briefly looked at the videos, I would say the largest shells may be six inch shells.

Hi and thanks a lot for your kind welcome!

Today I finally got an answer of the guys who made the 2014er display...and they said they used up to 12 inch shells...but still, I would just love to visit one where 24-48 inch shells are used...any recommendations?

Wow what an intense final! I'm almost certain that I've seen some 12 inch (at least) shells.

But it's not only about the caliber you know. I've been visiting some displays in Japan where 36 inch shells and larger have been used but that doesn't make the display awesome.

The display you mentioned looks like one of the more expensive shows in Europe (in my opinion). Totally love the music, the colors and the reflection in the lake too.

Another quite interesting part:
