Type 54 v.s. Type 33??

So today I recived my permit I applyed for. But it says type 33 not 54. Are they the same?

Not sure if it is sold in Delaware or not but the ATF gave you a Rolling Rock Beer license. LOL

Since you live in Delaware I am trying to figure out what field office the ATF Inspector came out of?

For some reason I am thinking the inspector checked off something on your application during your interview. When you had your interview do you remember the inspector asking you to initial something on the application. I know sometimes during the interview process they correct the application and will ask the applicant to initial the changes.

I checked with one of my sources at the ATF. They are telling me nothing is really changed. They are moving into basic groups now. There are users of explosives (That is us), there are sellers of explosives and then there are importers of explosives. They also told me you can purchase any type of explosive with a user of explosives permit.

The ATF is attempting to simplify the explosive licensing structure. Problem is they may not be uniformly implementing it.

Here is section of the information I received from my source.

While the language in these newsletters and communications is ambiguous to some degree, the word I am getting is Type 54 is a user of explosives in general. Remember this does not exempt you from the storage requirements for whatever you have.

So it's just another type of user of explosives. Yes I did initial a few things.

According to my source if you have any type of ATF user license/permit you can purchase dynamite etc. It was actually this way in 2003 when the Feds took all of this over. For example in 2003 a User Limited permit allowed you to make six explosive purchases per year. Any explosive. The trend in 2014 is even if you have a license no one is going to sell high explosive to a private ATF license holder, they will sell you a service with them using the explosive. I am sure I could convince Tannerite Corporation to sell me some high explosive, but to me all of that stuff is just a big firecracker.
