Hello Everyone!

Ryan here from NJ, 38 yrs old. I have been into Fireworks for as long as I can remember. When I was 10 my uncle took me to my first Fireworks store (indian reservation, upstate NY). I have been hooked ever since. I mainly only have Experience with 1.4 consumer Fireworks. Believe it or not, shopping, and purchasing Fireworks is my favorite part. I love watching Dave's, and other youtube videos of Firework tours. It is basically porn for me. Sadly. lol. I have driven up to 6 hours to purchase Fireworks. Eventually, I would love to set up a "cross country fireworks road trip" and spend a week hitting up all the stores I want to visit.

I love them all, canister shells, festival balls, 500/200g cakes, crackers, candles. All fireworks are awesome. Living in NJ with this hobby isnt the easiest. I mainly shop on the Northeast Border of Pennsylvania. A few years back, I was a loyal PHANTOM, SKYKING customer. I am happy to say, I have woken up, and shop smarter now. The majority of border stores offer the BOGO scam to feed off of the out of state customers. With the help of Dave, this community, and other pyro enthusiasts on Youtube, I have found alot of great places to shop at. Anyway, I will keep this short, Just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself.

Dave, thank you for all the time and effort you spent on all of your videos, and creating this community forum for everyone. I have learned alot from your videos, and thank you for it.
perhaps one day, I will step into the 1.3 world, but for now I am comfortable and happy with 1.4. I will sit back, admire and enjoy the 1.3 shows put on by the pro's....

Happy shooting everyone, Stay safe.

Ryan

Welcome to the Forum Ryan. There are a lot of pyros from NJ, NY, & even CT that come to PA for open shoots & pyro club shoots & events. You will find it is a large & [mostly] friendly pyro world we live in! You may want to consider joining one of the pyro clubs.

Hello PyroJoeNEPA,
Thank you for saying hello and for the information. Definitely something I am considering (Currently doing my homework on PGI). It is really cool to know these clubs exist. I look forward to meeting people that are all about pyro as I am. Thanks again for dropping a line, and the info. Much appreciated.

Welcome aboard! I don't post very often but had to say something when I saw you were from the same nanny state as me. It is sure tough having this hobby in NJ but it is possible. Once again, welcome!

Ditto to what pyrojoe says. We are in Central Pa - so on one of your road trips - schedule our fireworks store on your trip. just right off I-80.
Clubs - there is Pa Pyro Artists, Cracker Jacks, Northern Lighters who meet alot in the PA and Md. area as well.
you just missed an open shoot at Fire Art a couple weeks ago - but there will be other opportunities for shoots during the winter months.
Oh and welcome to Pyro Talk.

Thank you for the welcome, and information. I am being honest when I say, I already had Kneppy's Fireworks on the list! I will get there before the 4th this year. I stock up throughout the year to soften the overall blow to the wallet. Plus, you find great stuff on the off season that can normally be out of stock during the peak times. THese open shoots sound great, sorry I missed it and look foward to future shoots. Thank you again!

Thank you PGH_Pyro! Hello to you as well. Thanks for the info, I am not familiar with Fine Art, but will be googling them shortly. Pretty cool having a community of Pyro's. I mean, my friends get it, but dont. They like fireworks, but dont love em. When I see a billboard for a fireworks store, I get like a kid.

thanks again for the info!

Hello Ryan and welcome to the boards! Add us to your fireworks excursion or time it in the spring when we have our weekend event Open Shoot, PGI Display Operators Course and Demo. As Joyce mentioned we just had our Fall Open Shoot, which was a great time and will likely become an annual event. I have a bunch of family in Central NJ and am planning a trip some point in the not so distant future.

Check us out on the web and feel free to drop me a line any time!

Hello Al! thank you so much for the information, and welcome. I will keep that in mind about planning my trip around an open shoot, or similiar event, heck any event about Fireworks. Sounds like a really good time, and I am very happy I joined this forum. Yourself, and everyone else has been very welcoming. TIght knit community of Pyro's is what I see. That is great. Thanks again, and do travel safetly when you visit the family in CNJ.

Hey Ryan, don't forget to check out Patriotic Fireworks in Maryland. About a two hour drive from central Jersey. They have a decent product selection, the same as WFboom in Ohio. The head salesman, Jack Leonard, is super awsome, and they have legit buy two get one free sales where they just cut 2/3 of the price off of the shelf items, so you dont have to get three of the same item. For instance, if a product costs $9 on the shelf, during the sale it is only $3! They also do wholesale. Here is a link to their site: http://patfire.com/site/

Well, now we know where Jack Leonard works. I know you are trying to be helpful, but posting links and prices from fireworks companies that do not advertise with pyrotalk violate contracts I have with established advertisers. I need advertisers to run the website, I welcome all companies that sell fireworks or fireworks related accessories to contact me, we try to help them find more happy customers like you.

Hello Marky, That is a cool tradition to share with your father. I wish I could do the same. We do shoot firearms together, so that works for me. Fireworks trips would be cool though. I often ride solo, but sometimes the wife joins me. Yeah, I love Firework stores. Best shopping you can do!.
thanks for the welcome!

LOL, that it is! but I need to get my butt in gear and clean it out. Then I will have plenty of room for more. below this shelf is another with a few more 500G cakes, and a pack of black Cat exceptional artillery shells. Maybe after I clean it out i will get a better shot.

Welcome to Pyrotalk Ryan

Thank you Adam!

Nice beginning to your stash! I went last weekend and bought a bunch since its the end of the season/year, deals are too insane to pass up and the guy gave me extra stuff because he didn't want to keep it in his inventory, basically he is clearing shop for next years inventory. I have my show basically for next year already. Now just waiting on deals on shells and then I am going to get some salute chains from ACE PYRO and maybe some 3" chains. I might need to buy another cobra mod or 2..LOL! That type 54 gives you a lot of options.

Thanks MIpyro, appreciate that. I hear you on the deals, this is the time time shop. Sounds like you made out great. I'm strongly considering a COBRA. Too many pluses on why I should purchase it. Not sure why I'm delaying. Not that I hate fusing and hand lighting, but it's time. Lol
Congrats on your 54. Perhaps one day I'll step up, just haven't had the exposure yet into 1.3. Anyway, thanks again for dropping by and saying hello. Have a great evening and stay safe.
