I guess I'll do embedded videos instead of links. Everyone else does. I went to 4 displays this Independence Day. It wasn't easy. I got as close as legally possible for each one. I even got rained on at the Bridgewater show. The fire department had to come over and put out several fires.

Does anyone know if you need the ATF54 in order to help rig these shows? How common are ATF54 holders?

You do not need a type 54 to work on professional displays.

A Type 54 is only to purchase 1.3 product.

There are wide numbers across the U.S. of 54 holders

I should have also mentioned that you do need to fill out an EPQ for whatever company is that you are going to work with.

An EPQ is an Employee Possessor Questionnaire. Its a form that gets sent to the ATF to clear you to handle product while under the supervision of the display company.
Basically a background check.

Thanks for making the videos play directly on the forums I prefer that way on pyrotalk. It saves time and clicking back and forth when possible and makes the post cleaner to speak. If anyone is unsure how to do it place the link in the little green film strip icon.
You can work for a professional without a fireworks license. You do have to complete a form on the first shoot called an employee possessor form. You will then receive a letter from the ATF clearing you to handle product with only the company listed on the form. If you work for two companies you need to have a clearance for each company. I have a fireworks license but still need to do it for each company I work for.
Here is what the form looks like. the company completes some parts of it with license numbers etc.

.
Now start to complete this form and go work for a company. LOL
