You zip tie freaks out there think this should fire OK? I followed the direction of the burn and put three ties on each union.

I zip tied my whole show last year. Racks and cakes.. And im doing it again this year. I only use two ties at each union. And I had no problems .

I use 1" masking tape. It concentrates the fire like quick match. It also speeds up the fuse rate a bit. Where I used to use zip ties was in making up ten shot reload strings. I would use masking tape to do up the chain fuse and then reinforce it with zip ties. But reloading is a pain and not conducive to a well timed show. Once you have enough mortars and racks you really don't want to be reloading. But, if you must, the zip ties make holding the chain fuse together more secure as you are lifting the shell strings and dropping them down in to the mortars. Masking tape alone can pull loose in this maneuver.
