I saw that Kellner's have recently updated their 1.3 pricing for 2014. They have increased prices anywhere from 15% to 55% per case for just about every product. I understand that costs change for the products, shipping, insurance, utilities, etc. but I am shocked with the extreme price increases.

Lynch just posted their 2014 pricing. Compaired to 2013, I would say 50% of their items stayed at the same price, a couple dropped, and the rest increased no more than 5%.

What do you think of these increases? Has the quality of the product increased justifying the additional costs?

I just checked their website last night and was also shocked to see the increased prices, decreased inventory and no sale of individual items of their 1.3 line. I am hoping this is a typo or mistake lol! If not my shows wont be nearly as big!

Whether 1.3 or 1.4 - you all could expect a 5 to 10% increase. But i agree - 55% increase???
WOW
As far as not doing individual pieces - it is a booking nightmare to keep track that way - so you all were spoiled to be able to do pieces - now you will have to commit to cases. Suck it up i guess - and decide your shows more carefully...

I thought of and definitely understand the nightmare of having individual (unit) sales! I would understand and deal with 5-10% increase but some prices ive seen have made my eyes pop

I just notice something else too - Kellners use to do a 1-5 cs price, then a lower price for 5+ cs. But i have been out of the 1.3 loop too long - when did he change to a % off discount program? Was it that same way last year too?

Kellners has a 1.3 discount similar to their 1.4 discount structure, but it is still hard to imagine why the prices are so much higher.

Wonder how lynch can keep his prices about the same across the board..

For everybody on this thread, I am new to this and just received my type 54 in Jan 2014 with one show under my belt! I thought kellners 2013 price list was pretty darn good, but like I said I am new to 1.3g so I don't really know much yet about what items usually cost what

Last year their discount was if you bought 10 cases of one item you got 10% off of those cases. They eliminated that promo. Also i based the increases on case purchase only.

Kellners use to have very good prices for average quality product. Now i am not sure.

Since Kellners is an advertiser for PyroTalk, Dave might have an idea on the increased prices.

I never discuss prices of fireworks with my advertisers, that is entirely up to them. I would advise waiting until we get closer to the demo in April to see what the final prices will be.

So there could possibly be changes or adjustments in 2014 prices?

Since Kellners is an advertiser for PyroTalk, Dave might have an idea on the increased prices. Last time I looked, Kellners is no longer a sponsor of PT! I don't see their banner anymore on the sponsors page or at the top.

Kellner Fireworks is still a sponsor on pyrotalk, my webmaster prematurely removed their current banner, we are waiting for the new one. I expect the new one will announce the demo. There is lots of fireworks related website activity this time of year as we prepare for the fireworks season in United States.
I am also looking to add more advertisers on pyrotalk. To anyone out there reading this in a fireworks related business please drop me an email for a confidential response to your advertising inquiry.

back to the OP's question - after relooking at Kellners pricing, and digging into my old pricing list of 2005 and 2006, and considering the overall pricing increases in general in the past 8 years or so - not all that out of line - comparably speaking. shipping of 1.3 containers at that time was around 8k/9k to the east coast, now 15k or more.
price of gas is more now than then - need i say more?

I see Kellner's have now added the option to buy individual pieces on most of their items again!
