We need to take the lead of the NRA on gun control. Newtown and a 90% public opinion poll on background checks didn't deter their fight, so our fight shouldn't be deterred by what happened in Boston with a possible connection to fireworks either.

Thank for the update on the Boston Bomber case. I have to admit when I first saw video of the Boston bombing my first thought was with the amount of smoke it was flash powder, then I ruled out flash powder when I looked a the amount of flame that was visible plus the smoke. I figured a real bomb would have been more devastating. This attack looked amateurish.
Here we go again Phantom Fireworks at the center of a terrorist attack in United States. Now you know why Phantom Fireworks has an attorney as their vice president. The canister artillery shell in the spot light. To be honest on a bright side at least it is not flash powder. We will have to continue to follow this story.

I don't think that Consumer Fireworks as a whole are threatened because it is jjust as easy to make your own explosives(Tim Mcveigh for example). All it takes is a couple web searches online and one will find how to make black powder or flash powder. The materials are readily available on Amazon, or a farm supply store.

Canister shells are awesome, I sold many sets of World Class Excalibur shells and I bought some for myself. They are big, loud, and dangerous. But, they still only have a 60g load per shell. That is the maximum a consumer shell can have, even the big 3 inch cakes don't exceed 60g per shot.

I can see 60g canister shells being banned. If that were to happen, I think that the consumer would just have to go back to buying pre-loaded 60g shots. The smaller rounds don't pose much of a threat. Above all, the important thing hobbyists can do is get their ATF license. That way their intentions are known, and they get to shoot the better stuff anyway.

I believe this is a picture of remnants of the fireworks used for the bombing. When I first saw video of the bombing and saw all the smoke, I thought it looked like fireworks smoke.

In my opinion, anyone that makes a destructive device out of consumer fireworks is an amateur. A bomb out of consumer fireworks is a primitive bomb.

Well Phantom Fireworks high prices made this not as bad as it could have been just think they spent $200 and got 2 boxes of lock and loads. For $145 i can get a case of excalibur's.
