Do you use fountains in your show? I was thinking of adding this as an opener to my show this year and wanted to get a little feedback. if you do how do you use them? if you don't why not?

Never to early to start planning:D

Yes i do, nice for a mild start just place a couple in w-shape finishing the theme with timed mines.

If you are going to use - best to use in the beginning IMO. And also depends on your shoot location to the audience. I like to use something like silver crackling dragon cones or something pretty yet full for about 90 sec or so...

I use them for a front at the beginning with timed mines. Only 45 sec in duration IMO....too long can ruin the anticipation.

I have about a 2 acre field for my show and plan on 6-8 fountain cakes across the front that will end with mines and cremoras following that.

My dad loves fountains, but i vote him down every year. They can make too much smoke and ruin your entire display, especially if there is no wind.

Fountains have there place just like anything, but If I can avoid using them I do since the smoke from them can ruin everything. There are some smokeless ones in the 1.3 family which i have used and like

I do in my shows. Make sure you get them into the air. They look a lot better when they're on some sort of platform and they are less likely to set your grass on fire. :)

Yea, I was planning on having the fountains up about 3 feet. I also learned the hard way to have the fountains a good distance from the boards I had the fountains set off a board on me last year.

I call it my Wall of Fire:
A 24' x 16" table on saw horses for the fountain front with as many as 24 fountains timed to end together.
This year I'll add 5 chromatropes attached to the front edge and 3 fanned candle racks to the back edge.
Foil will prevent burning the table.
