So with the New Year coming just around the corner, I feel its time to step further into the fireworks hobby. With that being said, I have finally ordered the 2 disc DVD package that Dave has provided to help get a Type 54 license. So wish me luck with my application, and Thanks in advanced Dave, also for helping so many people with the same interests come together. I never thought I would be among a group of so many people that enjoy shooting fireworks just for fun. AWESOME!

I will update my progress.

Thank you for ordering my ATF DVD/application. According to my records, there are currently 337 ATF fireworks license holders in the state of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is one of the highest states for licensure. I predict in less than 90 days that number will be 338. Best of luck to you and keep us posted.

All “employee / possessors” must submit an ATF Form 5400.28 – Employee Possessor Questionnaire (commonly referred to as an EPQ). An Employee/Possessor (EP) is an individual who has actual or constructive possession of explosive materials during the course of his employment with a business. Electronic background checks are conducted for all EPs submitted with the application.

Type 54 only allows to you to purchase 1.3G professional fireworks. But doesnt mean you can shoot them. This calls for a local permit from the township in which you live, or in a town in which you plan to shoot. You cannot take the fireworks with you. They have to stay at the place of purchase until the day of your shoot. Or unless you have your own storage. But that has to be built to code via ATF and EPA regulations.

Thats the reason why I havent applied for my Type 54, even though I have had the video for almost 6 months. I dont have any storage places around me. FPAG practically doesnt exist anymore from what I hear so I cant join any clubs. So I am left to purchase my own magazine and store it somewhere as long as it isnt 300 feet of an occupied dwelling. boo...

Yea, I am thinking about taking on that chore at some point in the fall. I found a great website explaining the build in detail.... I just need to look for it again and I will post it.

I am out of tune with this, but isn't it 150' barracaded and 300' UNBARRACADED? It should be in the distance tables - right? So depending on the poundage...

Thats what I might have seen.... "150ft Barracaded".
Now it makes sense.
