While the quality of fireworks in India does not impress me. I really love looking at the labels and the packaging. The fireworks markets look really cool also.

The fountains shown in the beginning of both movie clips and the rockets and ground spinners in the second movie at respectively 00:27 and 01:58 are exactly the indian fireworks that used to be available on the dutch market somewhere in the 90's during a year or two. Although they are small and don't look like much, their effects were amazing. Fountains going up to 2 metres!

Boy, I'm feeling all warm and happy again just seeing these things on video.

Hey Vavoom,

Thanx for sharing the informaition...Do you remember which company those fountains and spinners belonged to?

Being into History of Indian Fireworks, i would like that information...Also, is there a dutch documentary showing the cracker market or shop of that time?

Regards

Doctor

I just want to tell everybody that real firework lovers should experiment everything and see what they like and what attracts them..To me it will always be 3inch shells in consumer range,as well as anything to do with whistling cakes or multi shots...

people should avoid as much as they can small shops in the streets to buy fireworks, give your money instead to a certifiate shop with good history and name...If you get poor quality at least you will have someone to blame...either way it should be moneys worth,in India fireworks are always less than MRP.

Hi Doctor,

now I wanted to write to you that I'm going to look up and make a scan of some of the old folders and advertisements that I saved from that time. But first I did a small search with Google for some movies of shops in that time. I couldn't find any videos of that time, but look what I did find!

I already knew we have some enthusiast in the Netherlands that have some sort of a Fireworks Museum, but totally forgot they also have info on the indian fireworks that used to be available here.

These indian fireworks were from Peacock brand in cooperation with Po Sing.

That fountain and spinner in the pic belongs to sri kaliswari fireworks famous for cock brand items.
