For a rather small town show this finale was amazing to me. Berkley heights, NJ had a show put on tonight (Monday night) for the Italian feast of our lady of Mount Carmel. It was $10 to get in and the show wasn't till 11 pm! I felt the price was well worth it and loved the show. I took this video from my phone so it's not the greatest quality but it'll do. Tell me what you think of this finale.

yes - very nice finale indeed - love all those salutes!
But only 100' away from 8's and 10's??? Really? Where is the "safety" factor in this - should have been 700' minimum away....100' is even too close for C stuff.... just saying...
Yes - Spain does OUT DO! LOVE IT!

Frankie, yes, very nice finale. The Spanish one would have been awesome to be there to be able to feel all of those salutes!! Dave, can we all get together and duplicate this? LOL

Can you see the fence alocated all around the fire site? That's the security for Valencias! jajaja

That's video above is a digital shooted mascletį, you can hear a rhythm on it, is awesome! Hear from 2:00, one side ask, the other one answer!!! Can you try that on the USA Dave?? hahahaha

Well, let me give you some info about how they do that. The are using what's call "Trueno digital", maybe in english can be translate as "Digital Salute". The working is simple: You push the button, it explodes! Pyromusical is easy with that!! hahaha

Is this:

Hey, little late here but I was at the Mt Carmel fireworks as well. I live the next town over and have been going to it since I was little; it's probably the show that sparked my interest in fireworks. I agree, the finale was great, probably one of the most intense I've seen in person. The body of the show was nice too with all the multi-breaks and timed break shells, especially that last one before the finale with like 30 timed salutes (that bottom shot looked really low though!) Some of the shells really pack a punch as well; I was like 3 blocks away and the concussions were still powerful.

Just a little background info on the show. Garden State Fireworks did it and they've been doing it since the 1930s according to their site. The Santore's who own GSF actually live in Berkeley Heights just up the street from the Mt Carmel Society. That's probably why the show is so large for such a small town, they're kind of like putting on a show for their hometown. Apparently during the religious procession on the morning of the 16th they'll set off fireworks that have small figurines that float down after they explode. If you go to the Garden State Fireworks' Facebook page they have some images of the figurines along with some setup photos from past July 16ths showing them burying the pipes and carting in shells.

I was sitting outside the actual fairgrounds this year so I didn't see any of the groundworks. Did they have the ground salutes this time around? Those really caught me off guard last time!

I have a video of the morning fireworks as well. They did use the ground salutes in both the morning and night! They also had a wall of crackle in their show. That Spanish finale was unbelievable! Thanks for sharing. Were was that taken by the way? And for what event? Las fias (March 19)? For JKnepp the safety factor was almost not there. I love it that way though. I had shrapnel rained down on me through the whole show. Perhaps that adds to the excitement...

Yep, Fallas de Valencia :) Anyway, it's not difficult to see finales like this one in another spanish places... We like more the noise than Dave (And that's very difficult hahaha)
