New to the site

Hello, just wanted to do my first post on here. I know this isn't exactly prime time of the year for fireworks, so not expecting many replies. I usually just do a very modest hand lit show (consumer stuff) for my neighborhood every year, but with next year being the "250th" I decided to go MUCH bigger than I have in the past. I'll post a picture of my stash for next year when I figure out how. I realize for many of you it won't be that impressive, but for me it's without a doubt the most I've ever done. And we still have 10 months to go..... So now that I have all this stuff the idea of hand lighting everything is kind of out the window. I'll be fusing racks, fusing cakes, poking cakes, and using an ignite system all for the first time. Obviously I have a lot to learn for my show to go off without a hitch. I've been doing a lot of research over the last month or so about this stuff and some of the best info I've found has come from here, hence why I joined. So that's my intro, happy shooting!

Glad you signed up. Many people read the forums and when they are comfortable we are glad to have new people join. Also glad to hear you learned some things reading the forums. The search function is great. The material goes back to 2011. In addition don’t feel inadequate because you do not have a large display. You are making a good move progressing into fireworks firing systems

Welcome to the forum! It’s great that you are already planning for next year and purchasing product. That’s the way to do it. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Some of us have been around this hobby longer than others but all share the same passion and learn from each other. One word of advice is don’t grow too quick. It’s easy to bite off more than you can chew. Electronic firing for example is awesome, but it also increases your set up time multifold. Remember it’s quality over quantity. Stash pictures quite frankly don’t impress me much. That’s like a builder trying to prove their skills by taking a picture of a pile of lumber and nails. The pyro is just your material. It’s what you do with it that counts!
