I made it to the Chicago area again this year for the July 4th holiday. This is a private display. Years back Patrick and his brother Tom found my fireworks videos on YouTube. Over the years one thing to lead to another with an ATF license, multiple Cobra modules and a large annual backyard display. He in turn over the years has made multiple 1.3 fireworks purchase from various distributors that advertise on pyrotalk. When I made this video, I try to include set up details that may be of interest to those new advancing fireworks enthusiasts.

On a side note, we had a few fires post display. In particular was an old hard to get rotting Willow Tree. I have an unlisted video of the fire and the difficulty that ensued with trying to put the tree fire out. I will post the unlisted video here.

That's a good video for demonstrating the need for proper safety planning, and having necessary equipment on site. Good too that they had that skid loader at the ready. Certainly came in handy under the circumstances. My shoot site in 2024 was a short distance from a small lake. That being the case, I brought out a gasoline powered trash pump and a 100' length of hose to draw large amounts of water from the lake in case we had any fires break out that couldn't be immediately addressed with numerous prefilled 5 gallon buckets of water, the garden hose, and multiple fire extinguishers I'd brought along. Also had a couple of buckets of sand I'd brought as well. Luckily, we ended up only needing to use a couple of buckets of water on cakes that reignited after being shot off.

Nice! A lot of 1.4 pro stuff? At that distance it's a little hard to tell 1.4 or 1.3. So this remind me of shows that my son likes to do. Me, i like to give it hell for about 3 minutes and then give the audiance 4 to 5 seconds to ooh and awe but I'm an old fart and remember the days at the local fireworks presentations of a shell going up every 8 seconds or so, and nothing continuous until the minute finale.
The only thing I think he should ad are a few water cake.

Great show!!!!!
