Looking for Quickplug shunts

I unfortunately didn't realize that MJG Firewire didn't come shunted and that this is exclusive to Cobra/Ignite. Tryin to see if anyone has about 70 quickplug shunts they could spare, I'd be willing to pay for shipping at a minimum. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. I contacted Ignite and Cobra and they said they do not have any available for sale separately :( lesson learned...

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed then. I didn't see any mention on the MJG site of the quickplugs being shipped shunted so I assumed too late that there were not shunted. I'll find out next week when the package should arrive but hopefully this is good news.

That is a relief to hear. Thanks for posting. Normally I get them from Cobra but missed the usps cutoff from them this year. I've also ordered directly from mjg in the past but not with the quick plugs so I wasn't sure since it wasn't mentioned on the website.

Would be great if someone can post a picture of the latest batch of Initiators and the shunt. To rule out any differences between the ones sold by Cobra and the ones directly from MJG.

Initiators I've bought through Cobra have always been shunted. 2 years ago, I ordered straight from MJG. About 5 boxes were shunted and the rest were not. Interestingly, those 5 boxes ended up being part of a batch recalled by Cobra. I reached out to MJG to find out if I was part of the recall or not, since I did not buy through Cobra. I was and they replaced the boxes. What I learned was that depending on their inventory levels, they will sometimes pull from their Cobra production runs to fulfill direct to customer orders and you know when that's the case because they will be shunted. So, unless something has changed in the past 2 years the shunts are something specified by Cobra and not standard from MJG.

So I got my MJG order and some came shunted and some did not (80 had shunts so I lucked out, 30 did not). I did reach out to MJG and they said in the future to call/email/text them ahead of time and they can try to accommodate the order to make sure all are shunted if they have stock available. "It’s best to email/text/call first. I’m not sure if we will make them standard or not"
